Maintenance Staff
The World's Famous
Belleville Softball Complex
Maintenance and
Groundskeeping Staff

These are the individuals who work behind the scenes before the rest of us come to the park, and after we have gone home or to the bar for a beer.  These people keep the grass trimmed, cut, watered, and fertilized so that it is such a beautiful green color.  These people keep the infields smooth, solid, and watered so it looks appealing and the ball bounces true.  These people replace worn bases, put down the infield chalked lines, and paint the outfield lines.  These people clean the dugouts, clean the concourses, maintain the restrooms, and empty the trash containers.  These people take great pride in the Belleville Softball Complex.  Please notice that the list only contains five (5) names.  Mr. Jim Byres is the only fulltime City employee and he also has duties at other locations around the City.  The other four (4) individuals are part-time, seasonal employees who work in the early morning, the heat of the day, the rain, and at night under the lights from March though October.  So P-L-E-A-S-E pitch-in and pickup after yourself.  Remind others to do likewise.  Every minute spent cleaning and picking up litter is one less minute that can be devoted to working on the playing facility.  And next time you see one of these people, tell them what a great job they are doing!
